Yet, you partake in the the biggest cult of all.
Culture.
You don’t yet realize that you are still trapped under the spell of all the other gods people have created for you.
The world is filled with gods, from religion, to science, to spirituality.
A man with good intentions creates a protocol, it sounds nice to you.
You look around, everybody follows this protocol, it’s amazing, or so they say.
If everybody around does it, it must be true. It must. Nothing brings a crowd more than a crowd, and the crowd knows what’s right.
People wouldn’t preach from the rooftops something that doesn’t work would they? Look around you. What are the results of the people you see?
Do you want what they have? Then follow the path they followed.
But chances are you want something completely different from the things most have. For that no path of the common will take you where you want to be.
The path you walk was trail-blazed by someone that desired things completely different from what you do.
Yet you still follow it thinking it will bring you were you truly want to be.
Because everybody else does.
You are caged. And you agreed to it.

You follow a regimen, a protocol set by the ideas of others, trying to satisfy this god instead of getting where you actually want by forging your own path.
